Bringing 'Cycling's Bible' to Life

Join the voice of cycling as you ride up Alpe d'Huez with Ned Boulting re-creating the scenes of Geraint Thomas' glorious victory on Stage 12 of the Tour de France last year.  Lovingly re-told in Ned's labour of love - The Road Book - there will be lots of laughter while tackling this mythical mountain.

This June sees the cycling season head towards its apex all building up to the annual spectacle of the maillot jaune launching (sometimes literally) through France towards Paris at the Tour de France the next month.

June is when the Critérium du Dauphiné will show us who’s form is good enough to make a full tilted effort at the Tour and who might struggle when faced with the daunting mountain stages and we will be following in many a famous pedal stroke when we take on the fabled 21 hairpins of Alpe d’Huez on our special cycling trip with Ned Boulting!

‘I’ve been to Alpe d’Huez so many times during the Tour de France. I call this “work”.

But this time, I’m simply going for fun! Can’t wait to take on those famous hairpins with you, while we relive the greatest race of Geraint Thomas’s life.’ - Ned Boulting

With the launch of his cycling almanack The Road Book, Ned brilliantly encapsulated the stats, oddities and glory of what makes cycling the most absorbing of sports to be part of with 10 to 12 million spectators lining the roads each summer to watch the peloton snake its way just across France.

In celebration of The Road Book, we have teamed up with Ned and offering you the chance to play out one of the most remarkable stages in Tour history as Geraint Thomas became the first British winner atop Alpe d’Huez on Stage 12 of last year’s race!

On this 4 day trip you will marvel at Ned’s anecdotes from his time following the Tour around the country and the quirks that made us all fall in love with two wheels.  On the ride itself up Alpe d’Huez, we will have fun (type 2 fun, maybe!) re-enacting the scenes from last years stage as beautifully portrayed in The Road Book.  Then on our second ride the next day, The Queen’s Stage, we will tackle Croix de Fer, Glandon and Lacets de Montvernier together before our final night in our luxury chalet.

As part of the trip you will all receive a signed copy of The Road Book so you can pore over the stats and see which rider indeed was in the greatest number of breakaways in 2018…

Join us in June and ride the most famous mountain in France with Ned and our own Bikecation peloton.  Find out more here
