Cycling in Andorra is not for the feint hearted. The small country sandwiched between Spain and France has 21 Mountain Passes. It has the highest capital city in Europe and is approximately the size of greater London. The Vuelta de España and Tour de France have visited this famous country and it’s HC and Cat 1 climbs multiple times, where it has been the site of many a GC battle in a grand tour. Arcalís, Arinsal and Cabús are just some of the famous climbs that allow you to experience Andorra’s beautiful landscape.

La Massana

A popular ski destination in Winter, this town and surrounding area is located in the North West of Andorra and derives its name from a type of Apple that was traditionally grown here. This area contains the highest mountains in Andorra and the town itself sits at 1240meters above sea level. 


We recommend you fly to Toulose. From here it is a 3-hour transfer to Andorra

Riding in Andorra is hard. Almost all the climbs are categorised as HC or Cat 1 climbs and it is very difficult to have a flat ride. That said, if you are a competent and fit rider, you will love the challenge and the scenery pays back in spades.

The best time to go and cycle is determined by the weather. You will only be able to ride the famous Cols between May and the end of September due to snow on the peaks. For the best chance of a sunny day with quiet roads you will want to pick a date in June or September
