Mallorca

The Spanish Balearic island of Mallorca is famous for sun, sand, sea and sangria. However more and more cyclists are discovering the secret delights of Mallorca. Thanks to a sustained effort from the local goverment Mallorca has been transformed in recent years into a cyclist’s paradise.

Mallorca

Mallorca has the perfect ingredients for every type of cyclist: Smooth well maintained roads, low traffic levels and respectful local drivers, fully signed posted cycle routes, high mountain passes for the hardcore climbers (and easier lanes for those that dislike the hills), and great all-year-round weather. Port de Pollença

The capital of riding on the island. Port de Pollença is the cycling mecca of Mallorca. Ideally placed on the coast, but a stones throw from the mountains and quiet country back lanes, it makes it an ideal base for a cycling holiday.

Soller

Soller and Port de Soller are nestled between the Col de Soller and Puig Major. It is an ideal base if you like climbing!

Palma

Stay hear if you want to minimise transfer time and want to be near a larger city and cultural hub.

Bike highlights

Route highlight

If you come to Mallorca you have to take on the famous Sa Calobra. If staying in Port de Pollença, don’t miss the light house run to Formentor, and if staying in Soller, track down the climb to the Orient.

Bike difficulty

Difficulty level

Cycling in Mallorca means you really can ride as much or as little as you like, at a pace that suits you. You can take a leisurely approach sampling a local wine by the pool or take on every optional climb on offer. Take a look at two of our favourite routes here.

Bike best times

Best time to go

It is possible to ride Febuary to November in Mallorca, but avoid July and August as the Island is over run with the bucket and spade holiday makers, and it's too hot to really enjoy cycling. April is probably the ideal month for Cycling
