World Championships | Yorkshire Dales | Ride and Watch

 

Join us in Yorkshire to watch the World Championships. The worlds best cyclists will come to Yorkshire to fight for the coverted rainbow stripes jersey. The first time since 1982 the World Championships have been on these shores. Harrogate is the focal point for the week and we will base ourselves in the stunning town of Skipton.

Group Size

The group will be a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12 people. We feel that this size of group works best as there will always be enough in the group for some good company but there won’t be so many people that it becomes overcrowded.

Accommodation

Accommodation is in a clean and comfortable 3 star hotel. The Hotel Rendezvous is located in Skipton and has brillaint safe and secure cycle accommodation. 

Food & Drink

All your breakfasts, lunches and dinners are included in the price of the trip. Lunches will be provided each day in a cafe or restaurant or picnic lunches provided by the guides when the weather is good. Evening meals are provided at your accommodation or in a nearby restaurant. We also supply fruit, biscuits, cake, nuts etc in the support vehicle that you are welcome to have throughout the day as well as sports nutrition if required. Water will be in the support vehicle but any other drinks will have to be purchased in resort.

Support 

Each one of our Guided Road Cycling tours is supported by at least 1 qualified bike mechanic as well as 2 professional cycling guides to ride near the front and at the back of the group. 

 

Itinerary

Friday 25th September - Day 1: Arrive to Skipton

Arrival in Skipton, check into the hotel, before having your bike checked over by our mechanic and  meeting the rest of the riders on the trip over dinner.

Saturday 26th September - Day 2: Ride the course

Today we will ride the first half of the Men's Elite World Championship road race. From Skipton we head North into the Yorkshire Dales National Park, taking in the climb of Buttertubs and looping round onthe course until we reach Masham. here we deviate of the course to Pateley Bridge and return to Skipton. This ride should give you a real taste for the riding that the race will occur upon the next day and give you a real tast of riding in the Yorkshire Dales.

Sunday 27th September - Day 3: Watch the race

After watchign the mens race zip past us in Skipton, we jump on the bikes and cut across to Harrogate. Here the men's final takes on seven laps of a town centre circuit and it is where the action should unfold. We have reserved an area in a pub, a spitting distance from the finishing circuit lap and close enough for you to run between the bar and the action! Once the race is finished, we will return to Skipton. NB: There is the option to leave tonight if you wish.

Monday 28th September - Day 4: Departure

Leave at your leisure to return home.
