Bespoke - The road to Paris

With more people working from home, it is now more relevant than ever to organise events that bring people together from across a company, to meet face to face and help create and foster those key relationships.  Bikecation put together bespoke corporate rides to create fun and easy-going events for employees and clients.  Being the biggest bike race in the world, the Tour de France is one of the most popular spectacles to base a ride around.

Last year we organised a 3-day London to Paris bike ride for a client to finish in Paris the same weekend as the final stage. so they could see the final sprint on the Champs-Élysées before getting the Eurostar back to London.

The group wanted an achievable route to attract both seasoned cyclists and relative newbies and for it to be fully supported.  We put together a proposal of different routes highlighting the benefits of each one before working together to choose the route that fit their requirements best.

We created a bespoke page to direct their riders to, with information of the trip, itinerary, costs and full details, and we were able to take payment and rider information from them all on our website.  Being able to host this on one web page made the process much more streamlined and easier for the client so all they had to do was send links to all their staff.

The trip in detail

Through experience we know that when people join these rides, they just want to concentrate on the ride itself, so we take care of all the logistics.  Luggage is transferred between bike-friendly hotels which we book for the group, a bike mechanic is on hand in a roving vehicle and road guides are included alongside GPX routes which are sent to everyone prior to the trip.

All meals are provided with regular water and snack stops to keep every fuelled.  On our trips you will be treated to picnic lunches on some of the days which is often a food highlight of the trip!

Through France we create a route that takes in classic French villages, open, safe and quiet roads along with towns and cities that have some Tour history to add an extra element to the trip.

Upon arrival in Paris, a celebration meal is organised for you before toasting everyone’s achievements through the night.

The next day, while you settle down to watch the Tour roll by, your bikes are transported back to London ready to pick up when you arrive on the Eurostar at St Pancras station after watching the sprinters battle for a famous stage victory and the maillot jaune is firmly cemented onto a riders palmarès.

With the 2020 Tour finishing this weekend, are you ready to book in your next corporate cycle event at the Tour in 2021?
