Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Desenzano or Peschiera

You have today to arrive and to prepare for your cycling holiday in Italy.

Day 2: Desenzano/Peschiera – Verona (60/35 km)

Today you cycle to Verona. With the river Adige crossing it, this is one of the most important and beautiful cities in the Veneto region. Worth visiting are: the Roman Arena, the Church of San Zeno and Juliet’s House.

Day 3: Verona – Illasi/Soave (30/40 km)

Today is flat and relaxing, crossing beautiful vineyards and countryside. Your cycle route will join the “Strada del Vino” (wine road) that leads to Illasi/ Soave, a very famous area full of vineyards and medieval buildings.

Day 4: Illasi/Soave – Vicenza (50/40 km)

At first, the pedalling is easy today, the route starts out flat, but then heads through the Colli Berici, a hillier region just south of Vicenza, with stunning views of the city. The old city centre is characterised by the beautiful private palaces and public buildings designed by Andrea Palladio, the famous 16th century architect.

Day 5: Vicenza – Padua (45 km)

Cycling out of Vicenza you will come across the beautiful Palladian Villa Rotonda. Along the Bacchiglione river, the route will continue to the fascinating city of Padua with its famous Giotto’s Chapel and one of the biggest squares in Europe, the “Prato della Valle”.

Day 6: Padua – Mestre/Venice (40 km)

The tour continues easily through the flat Veneto. You will cycle along the Brenta Canal, overlooked by the countryside villas of the ancient Venetian nobility (Villa Pisani, Malcontenta, and Villa Widmann) until you reach Mestre; Venice’s mainland. Here your cycle to Venice stops and you are free to spend the day in this romantic city. You can choose to stay directly in Venice with a price supplement.

Day 7: Mestre/Venice

Departure after breakfast.

Due to organisational reasons, weather conditions or provisions issued by local authorities, the itinerary may be subject to some changes before and/or during the holiday.

Along the way you may find temporary deviations (for example road works) which cannot be foreseen; in this case each rider can decide autonomously how to deal with these stretches.
