Oviedo Cycling Routes

Oviedo is a little known town to base a cycle holiday from, but it is a hidden gem in Spain's crown.

Oviedo - Alto de Angliru Loop  - This ride takes you out of Oviedo on quiet roads from our favourite hotel, following the river at first, before you swing up in to the hills. You climb gently up the valley till you reach La Vega. From here you begin to climb properly. There is one particularly difficult stretch of over 20% to reach the summit of the Angliru. From here you return the base of the climb and follow quiet roads back to Santa Eulalia where there is a good coffee stop. You can then retrace your steps back to Oviedo along the river Nalon.

Oviedo to the coast and back - This route takes in some of the greatest and quietest roads on offer in Asturias. A coffee or tapas on the sea front in Plaza San Pedro Cudillero is a must. Although an out and back ride, the beauty of the ride more than makes up for this.
