Itinerary - We can customise this trip for you!

Day 1: Arrive in Bergen

We recommend a morning flight. After arriving you will be met and transferred to your chosen hotel in Bergen. You will have time to build your bike (or pick up your hire bike) and grab some lunch. In the afternoon we suggest you go and ride the 2017 Worlds TT course to the top of Mount Floyen.

Day 2: Matre Loop

Matre is an hour North of Bergen This 99km route climbs 2500m. There is one tunnel on the route of 1.5km long, so we recommend that you take lights. Leaving Matre you take the FV92. A small road that climbs, undulatingly with the odd steep ramp up into the hills. You pass stunning lakes interrupted by green forests. After 25 km you descend steeply to the beautiful Fjord of Sognefjorden. Keep the coast on your right as you pass little hamlets and revel in the easy going around the coastal road. After 75km you reach Instefjord (ideal to grab something to eat). Here you start to climb again and just before the tunnel, take the FV5 up into the mountains. You descend down with brilliant views of the Fjord and then you have a lump to get over to get back to the start at Matre.

Day 3: The Snow Road

More accurately called the Aurland National Tourist Route is the most beautiful (and at times brutal) roads I have ever ridden. Even in August, there was snow at the top. You pass idylic lakes, waterfalls and rock formations. However you are made to work for it. With ramps on both ascents up to 20% this is a very tough climb (with beautiful views). Grab something to eat in Laerdalsoyri and then return (up the slightly easier side) back to Aurlandsvangen. There a e a couple of great restaurants here. And it's well worth sampling the local fish before you head back to Bergen.

Day 4: Departure day

There is time for one final local ride round Bergen, before we transfer you back to the airport. We recommend you get an afternoon or evening flight. If you want to extend this trip, this is possible. Simply contact us.
