Choose from racing on the Saturday, Sunday or both days.

Option 1: Stage 1 of the Gran Fondo World Tour, Saturday 9th June - 160 km, 1,894m elevation gain, 10km timed stretch

The race will start in Girona and head towards Salt and Bescanó, before arriving in Bonmatí and taking the winding Mas Llunes road to Estanyol. Here riders will enter the vast volcanic area known as La Crosa and pass through Vilobí d’Onyar and across the La Selva plane to Riudellots and Campllong. From here onwards, the race will make its way towards the Costa Brava, passing through Caldes de Malavella and up to Romanyà de La Selva. Then comes a 10km descent to Calonge, at which point riders will tackle the ascent up the La Ganga mountain pass, a breathtaking setting backdropped by the Costa Brava. The course will then drop slightly to La Bisbal d’Empordà, where it will begin a long 16km ascent to Santa Pellaia. This mountain pass, with an average gradient of 2%, is fast and ends with a descent to Cassà de la Selva, where riders will catch their first glimpse of the Els Àngels Sanctuary. The cyclists will brave the main ascent, which will also include a 10km timed stretch (“Els Àngels”), with more than 100 km under their belt. The route will then head to Madremanya and Sant Martí Vell, before returning, down a fairly smooth stretch with false flats, to Girona, where the public will await them at the finish line at Sea Otter Europe.

Option 2 : Stage 2 of the Gran Fondo World Tour, Sunday 10th June - 125 km, 1,862m elevation gain, 6km and 7km timed stretches.

The race will start in Girona and head towards Salt and Bescanó, before arriving in Bonmatí and tackling the first climb up the Les Serres road, a mountain pass that riders will have to crown twice, and the site of a 6-kilometre timed stretch. The first descent will take cyclists to the Vall del Llémena and on to Les Planes d’Hostoles, in the Garrotxa region. From here the cyclists will head to Amer, turning off after Pasteral and onto a shadowy, wild road to the Susqueda Reservoir, which the riders will edge before entering Les Guilleries and ascending the gruelling Nafré mountain pass to Osor (timed stretch). Here begins the long descent to Anglès, which will take riders back to Bonmatí, where they will brave the Les Serres mountain pass for the second time. The riders will return to Girona through the Vall del Llémena, down alluring roads that pass through Llorà, Canet d’Adri and Sant Gregori before finishing at Sea Otter Europe.

The riders will return to Girona through the Vall del Llémena, down alluring roads that pass through Llorà, Canet d’Adri and Sant Gregori before finishing at Sea Otter Europe.
