Cambrils, Costa Dorada, Spain

Cambrils is a town on the coast of the Costa Daurada ("gold coast" in Catalan, due to its sandy beaches). Still a working fishing town, with a delightful harbour, marina and small town beach. A short ride out of town gets you out into the mountains and countryside. A short distance from the town are thermal pools and many vineyards.

Where to Ride?

Head inland and head up into the mountains. There are plenty of routes and the tourist office does a great map - book with us,and you'll get the routes as a GPX file. The La Mussara climb is the iconic climb in the area, and the high point of the mountains. See here for more detailed route info.

Where to Stay?

Cambrils has a great choice of hotels. Our pick of the hotels is the Hotel Monica located in town a stone's throw from the great restaurants, a well-stocked bike shop and the beach. For more info about the hotels, join the Bikecation Cycle Club and click here

Where to Eat?

Cambrils has two Michelin-starred restaurants and a great choice of places to eat and drink. Our favourite for the great local seafood and brilliant paella is Restaurant El Posit.

What to do, other than ride?

Other than cycling and spending time on the beach and exploring the town, go to the thermal spas just north of Cambrils in Montbrio del Camp, take on a round of golf or go on a wine tasting to one of the great wineries dotted round the countryside. There is also an old abbey to visit in Escaledei.

What Climb not to miss?

Don't miss climbing the highest point, La Mussara
