Port de Pollença, Mallorca

Port de Pollença is the cycling mecca of Mallorca. Ideally placed on the coast, but a stone's throw from the mountains and quiet country back lanes, it's an ideal base for a cycling holiday.

Where to Ride?

The island is dotted with great routes. The drivers are cycle friendly, and the roads are butter smooth. Sa Calobra, Puig Major, and the Col de Soller are all reachable in day rides from Port de Pollença. However our favourite local ride is the lighthouse ride out to Formentor. 43km and 900m of ascent make it a great couple of hours on the bike. The road clings to the headland and the views are magnificent.

Where to Stay?

If you like to enjoy yourself as much off the bike as you do on the bike, stay closer to the centre of Port de Pollença. If you prefer things a bit quieter, stay further out. There is a great choice of bike-friendly hotels here. Contact us for our personal recommendations.

Where to Eat?

Don't miss eating in Tolos and seeing the cycling memorabilia on the wall!

What to do, other than ride?

Other than cycling and spending time on the beach, walking, snorkeling, spaddle boarding and boat-based activities are all popular.

What Climb not to miss?

Don't miss climbing the highest point on the Island of Mallorca, Puig Major or the famous Sa Calobra

What you didn't know about Port de Pollenca?

The pilots of the amphibious fire fighting aircraft run drills over the bay, and are amazing to watch!
